Sky Sport Italia have reported that Juventus and FC Schalke 04 are close to reaching an agreement which will see German defender Benedikt Howedes make a switch to The Old Lady.
Juventus director Beppe Marotta had his say on this situation when he publicly said, that the German’s arrival at the club was ‘more than just a hypothesis’
“We won’t deny that we had contacts; Howedes represents an interesting profile, but we still have to work out contractual issues with him and with Schalke 04. He is an option, perhaps more than just a hypothesis,” Marotta said.
The proposal is believed to include a €2-3 million fee for a season-long loan with the option to make the deal permanent for an additional €7-8 million at the end of the 17/18 campaign.
Massimiliano Allegri has always had a penchant for Versatility and Benedikt Howedes’ will fit that bill just right. He is predominantly a center back but equally adept in playing on both sides of the defense.
