Manchester United midfielder Jackie Groenen has signed a three-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Groenen’s contract at Manchester United was set to expire after the 2022-23 season, but he leaves on the eve of the club’s first Women’s Super League (WSL) campaign. Manchester United manager Marc Skinner stated that the trade was “excellent business” for all sides.

The coach also reiterated that he understood the supporters’ frustration. He was also quick to assure them that they have enough players, and Groenen’s transfer would give other players the chance to step up and showcase what they could do. Supporters of women’s football can make their experience more immersive by betting on the matches. In this sense, you can use a matchbook sign up offer to boost your sports betting adventure. Groenen will be a favourite for many betting fans as she represents PSG Feminine.

Skinner also revealed that this was a deal the club were looking for because, in three months, Jackie was free to sign a pre-contract with a club of her choice. Moreover, he also said that the club were not anticipating the move to PSG, but it was an excellent business for everyone.

Groenen had been at the club for three seasons after becoming Manchester United’s first female abroad signing in 2019. PSG finished second in Division 1 Feminine behind Lyon last season and began the current season with a win over Soyaux-Charante the previous weekend. On the other hand, Jackie stated that it was a major transition for her career. She will be playing alongside her international teammate, Lieke Martins.

Groenen, who has signed a three-year contract with PSG, joined United in 2019 and appeared in 60 games across all competitions. She has previously represented Chelsea. After making the move, she said she was delighted to join PSG.

She also revealed that her first impression of her new club was positive. Furthermore, she stated that she had met most of her new teammates and found them adorable. She also said she was happy to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Groenen told PSG fans she was there to win and is looking forward to lifting some trophies this season. She also claimed she was looking forward to playing in the Champions League. The 27-year-old has appeared in 92 games for the Netherlands and scored nine goals.

Groenen told the club’s website after leaving Old Trafford that she had a memorable experience playing for Manchester United. In this regard, she thanked the Manchester Staff, fans, and players for their faith in her. Moreover, she said she would watch the club’s progress with great interest.

Manchester United kick off their WSL season against Reading on Saturday, following the postponement of last weekend’s match against Tottenham Hotspur. The team has made seven summer acquisitions, including Arsenal’s Euro 2022 winner Nikita Parris.
