Dimitar Berbatov signs for ISL side, Kerela Blasters. Berbatov has signed a year long contract which sees him play for Kerala Blasters. The former Manchester and Tottenham player was a free agent before Kerela Blasters came knocking on his door. Kerela has been successful in reuniting the Bulgarian with his previous manager. The Kerela manager, Rene Meulensteen has previously worked with the Bulgarian. They together had previous outings in Manchester United, as well as in Fulham. Berbatov will also be joined by another Manchester United player, Wes Brown. Brown also signed this season for the Kerala Blasters. Dimitar had been released in the year 2016, by Greece side, PAOK in 2016. Berbatov has also played for AS Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen, and CSKA Sofia during his renowned career.
The Bulgarian has won many accolades. This includes him being the Bulgarian Footballer of the year for 7 times. His personal list of accomplishments also includes the “UEFA Cup Top Goal Scorer”, “Premier League Golden Boot of the Year” and “French League Player of the Year”. He has been included in the FIFA FIFPro World XI on 3 occasions and is included in the “All Time Man United XI Squad.”
